Soil texture influences on soil health scoring functions in Ontario agricultural soils: a possible framework towards a provincial soil health test

چکیده
Since soil health is impacted by inherent properties, it is, therefore, challenging to apply the same frameworks across multiple regions and types. Here, we examined effect of textural group (coarse, medium, fine) on four indicators soils sampled from diverse agricultural systems Ontario. Scoring functions were developed calculating cumulative normal distributions, using mean standard deviation each indicator, for three or five groups. For scoring values provided “more better” approach, where greater scores implied better health. Soil significantly affected but not all Evolved NH 3 CO 2 , potentially mineralizable N had stronger associations with other as revealed correlation principal component analysis. Our results also suggested that separation tested was more consistent groups than (clays, clay loams, sandy sand); recommend develop functions. The findings this study lay a groundwork future assessment involving larger number samples Ontario indicators, which will facilitate regional interpretation

Soil health in agricultural systems.
Soil health is presented as an integrative property that reflects the capacity of soil to respond to agricultural intervention, so that it continues to support both the agricultural production and the provision of other ecosystem services. The major challenge within sustainable soil management is to conserve ecosystem service delivery while optimizing agricultural yields. It is proposed that so...

متن کاملRegionalization of Uncovered Agricultural Soils Based on Organic Carbon and Soil Texture Estimations
The determination of soil texture and organic carbon across agricultural areas provides important information to derive soil condition. Precise digital soil maps can help to till agricultural fields with more accuracy, greater cost-efficiency and better environmental protection. In the present study, the laboratory analysis of sand, silt, clay and soil organic carbon (SOC) content was combined ...
متن کاملInfluences of soil acidity on Streptomyces populations inhabiting forest soils.
The Streptomyces populations inhabiting five acidic forest soils were examined. It was found that lowering the pH of a medium selective for streptomycetes (starch-casein agar) to the pH of the particular soil horizon being plated influenced both the total numbers and types of streptomycetes that were isolated from the soils examined in this study. On the acidified medium both the numbers of str...
